On Persistence

As I already mentioned in a previous edition my one word for 2024 is persistence.

When you have a goal to achieve, after making a plan for success, the rest is following through. That’s persistence.

Along the way, we learn and adapt if need be. When we are completing certain tasks or have certain goals, eventually there will be setbacks.

We can power through them by learning a way around it and adapting to the new way of working.

Sometimes life does get in the way of being persistent. For instance, other work such as your day job may get in the way.

Family may stall you, such as a newborn on the way.

Some tips I have found helpful so far on persistence

  • Write down your goals, be specific about what they are and when you want to achieve them

  • Make a plan for those goals

  • Take steps everyday to reach the goal

  • If you miss a day, don’t fret and continue the goal the next day

  • Review your goals and decide if the goal is still aligned with your path in life

Create good habits to stay persistent. Sometimes that means dropping bad habits. Dropping those bad habits is more practice at being persistent.

If you haven’t written down your goals in a while. It’s a good place to start.

Until next time,

Be fortunate.
